Activity:

As part of its business diversification policy, the Société Chimique ALKIMIA, got from the Tunisian State, by Decree No. 1658 of August, 23 2011 of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, a concession for the extraction and production of sodium sulfate in Sebkhat Oum El Khialate, located at 60 km in the southeast of Tataouine. Thus the Constitutive General Meeting of the Les Salines de Tataouine Company met August 25, 2011 decided to launch the construction of a production unit of 100 000 tonnes of sodium sulphate (Na2SO4), a product used mainly in the manufacture of powder detergent, through a 100% subsidiary, which will operate under the mining code.

Activity:

As part of its policy of business diversification, the Board of the Société Chimique ALKIMIA, taken on April, 23 and August, 27 2009, has taken the decision to constitute ALKIMIA-Packaging Company, 100% subsidiary of the Société Chimique ALKIMIA, specialized in the packaging and sale of soda ash (Na2CO3) imported from the ANSAC provider (American Natural Soda Ash Corporation). Soda ash, used primarily in the manufacture of glass and detergents, is marketed in North Africa, Egypt, Jordan and West Africa. The first and most important customer is the Société Chimique ALKIMIA, which, alone, consumes 100,000 tons per year of bulk soda ash.
